MEDICATION<\/strong>
\n\u2022 You must take all the medications, as prescribed by your doctor.<\/p>\n

RINSING<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Do not rinse, spit or smoke for the first 24hrs following your surgery.<\/p>\n

HYGIENE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS FOR CROWNS\/BRIDGES<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Brush the teeth the same day of the operation, as well as the small silver caps lightly.
\n\u2022 In some cases, it will be necessary to have your “flipper” adjusted (if necessary) by your dentist after this intervention.<\/p>\n

HYGIENE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS FOR REMOVABLE PROSTHESIS ON DENTAL IMPLANTS<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Continue to lightly brush the silver caps after the procedure. It is important to continue to brush them daily as part of your daily routine to prevent complications.<\/strong>
\n\u2022 In some cases it is recommended to purchase the Waterpik for improved hygiene.
\n\u2022 You should see the surgeon 2X \/ year (or more often) for cleanings and oral and general health assessment of dental implants.
\n\u2022 After this intervention, your current dentures will need to be adjusted(relining) by your dentist or denturist to accommodate the caps.
\n\u2022 Do not sleep with your dentures in your mouth (if removable dentures)<\/p>\n

PROSTHETIC COMPONENTS<\/strong>
\n\u2022 In some cases, the surgeon will give you PROSTHETIC COMPONENTS to give to your dentist or denturist. It is important to follow the directions carefully.<\/p>\n

FOOD<\/strong>
\n\u2022 In certain cases, it is recommended to drink warm or cool liquids and eat soft foods for the first 2-3 days.<\/p>\n

DISCOLORATION<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Black, blue or yellow areas may develop around the face and neck (bruising). This is as a result of bleeding into the tissue and is of little significance.<\/p>\n

EMERGENCY<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Excessive bleeding or discomfort, abnormal reactions to medication (e.g. rash, itching, vomiting or nausea) warrant an emergency phone call at one of these numbers:<\/strong><\/p>\n
