IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO ORAL SURGERY<\/u><\/h2>\n

  1. Expect 3-5 days for recovery<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Take medication<\/strong>, as prescribed by your MAXILLOFACIAL surgeon. Discontinue medications ONLY WHEN DIRECTED BY THE DOCTOR (e.g.: Aspirin, Eliquis, Xarelto…)<\/li>\n
  3. Prepare ice packs, soft foods<\/b> such as vegetable and fruit purees, protein, oatmeal, omelets, and soups; avoid foods with sugar and dairy products. You can also take vitamin supplements such as vitamins D and C, collagen, and omega-3, among others, to optimize post-operative healing.<\/li>\n
  4. Please advise the surgeon if your medical condition has changed<\/strong>, or you are taking any new medication since your last visit.<\/li>\n
  5. Please bring the required fees<\/strong>, as per your estimate, payable by cash, Interac, Visa, Master Card or American Express.<\/li>\n
  6. A minimum 48 working hour cancellation notice is required<\/strong> to avoid cancellation fees.<\/li>\n
  7. For dental implants cases only<\/strong>, remember to bring your surgical guide with you on the day of your surgery (when indicated by the surgeon).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    IF YOU ARE TAKING I.V. SEDATION OR LAUGHING GAS (nitrous oxide):<\/b><\/h3>\n

    • DO NOT EAT OR DRINK<\/u> 8 hours prior to surgery<\/strong>. (Any medications that must be taken one hour before surgery may be taken with a small amount of water ONLY<\/u>.<\/strong> Do not consume any food.<\/u><\/strong>)<\/li>\n
    • A responsible adult MUST ACCOMPANY YOU to your surgery with a car<\/u><\/strong>, drive you home, and be with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.<\/li>\n
    • Expect to be drowsy<\/u> and plan to rest at home for 24 hours.<\/li>\n
    • No alcohol, driving or operating dangerous machinery<\/u> for 24 hours or longer, if drowsiness persists.<\/li>\n
    • Remove nail polish and lipstick.<\/li>\n
    • Wear loose-fitting clothes. Do not wear your contact lenses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
