  1. Do your children take part in activities involving risk of falls or collisions?\u00a0<\/strong>Make sure they wear a MOUTH GUARD<\/strong>. \u00a0Ask your dentist to make you a CUSTOMIZED MOUTH GUARD<\/strong> or purchase a pre-formed one in a sporting goods store (Boil & Bite).<\/li>\n
  2. “My child knocked out a baby tooth.” \u00a0<\/strong>Contact your child’s dentist IMMEDIATELY<\/strong> to minimize discomfort and prevent infection. \u00a0Rinse the mouth with cold water and apply COLD COMPRESSES<\/strong> to reduce swelling.<\/li>\n
  3. “My child knocked out a permanent tooth.” \u00a0<\/strong>Find the tooth and rinse it gently in cool water ONLY<\/strong>. \u00a0REPLACE THE TOOTH<\/strong> in the socket and hold it there with clean gauze or a wash cloth. \u00a0If you cannot put the tooth back in the socket, place it in a clean container, preferably with cold milk or the child’s own saliva. \u00a0DO NOT<\/strong> store the tooth in water.<\/li>\n
  4. “My child has a chipped\/broken tooth.<\/strong>“<\/strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Contact your dentist IMMEDIATELY. \u00a0Rinse the mouth with cold water and apply COLD COMPRESSES<\/strong> to reduce swelling. \u00a0If you can find the broken tooth fragment, TAKE IT TO THE DENTIST.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
